Description
Charles River Laboratories is seeking an Animal Technician for a research customer. This role involves comprehensive animal care, colony management, and providing technical support and training to staff. Key responsibilities also include operational management, detailed documentation, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Charles River is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused on early-stage drug research and development, aiming to improve global health.
What We're Looking For
Animal Care and Colony Management: Provide feeding, watering, health checks, observe behavior, perform veterinary procedures, and manage animal colonies.,Technical Support and Training: Train users and new employees, assist research staff with animal procedures, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.,Operational Management and Documentation: Maintain accurate animal records, collect data for management software, monitor environmental conditions, manage consumables and equipment, and contribute to budget preparation.,Cleaning and Safety: Execute cleaning and decontamination protocols, operate autoclaves, dispose of animal carcasses according to established procedures, utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and actively prevent cross-contamination.,Compliance and Inspections: Ensure preparedness for regulatory inspections, comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and collaborate with management to enhance service efficiency and quality.
