Description
Charles River Laboratories is seeking an Animal Technician to join their research team. This role involves comprehensive animal care and colony management, providing technical support and training to staff, and managing operational documentation. Key aspects also include maintaining a clean and safe environment through proper cleaning and decontamination procedures, as well as ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and preparing for inspections. The position is within an organization focused on early-stage drug discovery and safety assessment.
What We're Looking For
Provide feeding, watering, health checks, observe behavior, perform veterinary procedures, and manage animal colonies.,Train users and new employees, assist research staff with animal procedures, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.,Maintain animal records, collect data for management software, monitor environmental conditions, manage consumables and equipment, and support budget preparation.,Perform cleaning and decontamination procedures, operate autoclaves, dispose of carcasses according to protocols, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and prevent cross-contamination.,Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections, follow health, safety, and environmental rules, and collaborate with the manager to improve efficiency and quality of services.
