Description

The successful candidate will join the International Private Placements team in Montreal, supporting transaction operations for leveraged buyouts and monitoring portfolio companies. This role offers growth within a collaborative and dynamic high-performance culture, requiring the ability to both collaborate with and lead less experienced analysts. The individual must demonstrate strong analytical skills, experience, maturity, and critical thinking to manage and coordinate various internal and external workflows.

What We're Looking For

Lead key aspects of investment opportunity evaluation and mature investment realizations by contributing to preliminary analyses and investment/disinvestment recommendation documents.,Support directors by rigorously performing financial modeling, valuation analyses, and business model reviews.,Ensure the preparation and quality of internal reports and recommendation documents, ensuring message consistency and adherence to deadlines.,Thoroughly review company financial reports, establish relevant comparables, and critically assess key results and assumptions.,Support directors in preparing and organizing discussions and meetings with partners, both internal and external to La Caisse.,Systematically conduct in-depth research on the situation and trends of monitored business sectors: proactively follow current events and gather information from key sources.,Ensure coordination with external advisors and rigorous follow-up on simultaneous workflows during real-time processes.,Coordinate and help manage internal La Caisse teams working alongside the Private Placements team (e.g., Tax, ESG factors, and Legal Affairs).,Review and participate in the work and analyses (Excel and PowerPoint) required from analysts.,Actively support the preparation of studies and analyses on potential targets or market niches that the team wishes to explore and explain the main points to the directors.,Produce value-added analyses for portfolio companies monitored by the principal analyst, advising directors on major market trends and operational changes, and producing the portfolio company review documents required for La Caisse's internal monitoring.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in investment banking or private placements.,An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting is considered an asset.,An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
