Description

The Associate will continuously support CDPQ Australia's business goals by advising on transaction execution based on required risk and return criteria and assisting in the management of La Caisse's assets in Australia. The incumbent will also assist CDPQ Australia with various research and strategy initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Actively participate in the analysis of investment proposals.

Develop and review detailed financial models, highlighting key points of the investment thesis, including conducting sensitivity analyses and reviewing financial projections and valuation assumptions.

Provide advice on the valuation of potential investments using appropriate methodology (discounted cash flows, multiples, etc.).

Conduct thorough due diligence on investment opportunities.

Lead the drafting of investment proposals for new investment opportunities.

Assist key collaborators in negotiating commercial agreements and shareholding structure, and provide investment advice.

Contribute to the development of CDPQ Australia's business and strategic plans.

Perform proactive monitoring of financial and operational indicators, as well as financial reporting of portfolio companies.

Contribute to portfolio value creation by publishing recommendations on key industry trends and strategic issues of potential portfolio companies identified by CDPQ Australia.

Prepare internal and external reports on portfolio companies based on the established timeline.

Conduct in-depth research on industry trends and fundamentals related to the covered sector: proactively monitor market news and gather information from relevant sources.

Produce detailed analysis of key challenges in the infrastructure sector and recommend strategies to implement.

Produce sectoral studies on potential target markets to develop.

Develop effective tools for market research and monitoring.

Ideal Candidate

Postgraduate degree in finance or another relevant discipline.

CFA designation or an MBA would be considered an asset.
