Analyst/Associate, Loan Syndication (Corporate Banking)

Description

The Analyst/Associate will support CIBC's Corporate Banking loan portfolio in the US by assisting with the origination, structuring, and distribution of syndicated credits in the primary market, and facilitating loan purchases and sales with commercial and non-bank investors in the secondary market to enhance capital efficiency and maximize profitability. The role involves analyzing financial and loan markets, managing deal and investor databases, preparing client pitches and internal presentations, and contributing to various reports. Flexibility for extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.

What We're Looking For

Support the origination, structuring, and distribution of underwritten and arranged syndicated credits within identified industry portfolios in the corporate bank’s loan portfolio in the US.,Provide support for the team’s sales coverage of commercial bank and non-bank investors in the loan market to facilitate purchases and sales for the bank’s portfolio.,Conduct analysis of financial markets generally and loan markets specifically, financing trends, deal database management, and investor database management.,Contribute to client pitches, internal presentations, and internal as well as external reporting.,Support the development and execution of overall business strategies.,Research and monitor primary and secondary loan market trends including structural and price trends, investor behavior, and other financial market metrics.,Research and monitor client-/borrower- as well as industry-specific credit and business trends for structuring new loan proposals, client pitches, and responding to investor due diligence.,Support the creation of situation-appropriate market risk analysis (the Loan Underwriting Committee Assessment) for loan underwritings.,Review information memoranda, proposals and presentations, helping prepare new business (“Global Deals Committee”) memos and underwriting proposals.,Maintain databases of loans and loan investors and ongoing contact with loan investors.,Support the organization and management of deal launches, bank meetings, and marketing events.,Help research and answer investor questions during primary distribution phases of syndications.,Support the timely and efficient closing of purchases and sales during secondary closing processes.

Minimum Education
