Analyst, Power & Utilities, Corporate Banking

This role involves providing corporate credit analysis, transactional support, and assisting in managing client relationships primarily within the North American Power & Utilities sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding client needs, financial stability, industry developments, regulatory issues, and economic trends to develop and implement tailored financing solutions.

What We're Looking For

Conduct credit and financial analysis for existing and new clients.,Research and analyze financial information, then draft credit proposals and recommendations in collaboration with the client coverage team.,Maintain client contact throughout the diligence process to gather information, provide advice, conduct reviews, and communicate bank requirements.,Assist in the analysis, structuring, and documentation of new transactions.,Organize presentations for current and prospective clients and contribute to the analysis for presentation materials.,Follow up on credit-related customer inquiries and service matters.,Liaise with various CIBC units, CIBC Capital Markets, and Risk Management to prepare credit reviews and proposals.,Oversee and/or participate in research and information gathering to identify and analyze potential business transactions.,Assist in the ongoing monitoring of approved credit arrangements and identify any relevant changes in a client's financial condition or business.,Ensure that recommendations and opinions provided to clients adhere to CIBC's professional standards and policies.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree in Business,Previous corporate finance/corporate lending experience (preferred),Excellent understanding of financial statements and accounting principles,Thorough understanding of Corporate Finance theories and practices,Well-developed financial analysis skills, including financial modeling, transaction structuring, and sensitivity analysis,Demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including profitability and cash flow analysis
