Description

The Municipal Finance Analyst at RBC provides analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers. This role focuses on the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds through various methods, including negotiated, competitive sale, or private placement. The analyst will also be involved in preparing proposals, presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials for clients, as well as developing financial analyses and models for capital markets transactions. The role requires understanding economic and political forces affecting the bond market and ensuring compliance with firm policies and risk identification.

What We're Looking For

Gather, organize, and analyze information for proposals, client presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials.,Prepare and participate in client presentations, detailing financing alternatives and RBC's underwriting capabilities.,Develop projections, bond/loan portfolio analysis, and financial models for capital markets transactions.,Understand economic and political forces impacting the bond market.,Collect, organize, and maintain marketing materials and information resources.,Coordinate activities related to pricing and settlement of public finance transactions.,Work with management and Investment Bankers to secure closings.,Develop data and analytical processing skills, improve data processing systems.,Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies and escalate them.,Comply with Firm Policies.

Ideal Candidate

BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics with a demonstrated record of high achievement.,1 to 3 years of related professional Municipal Finance experience.,Proficiency with personal computers and standard productivity applications.,Ability to obtain and maintain Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE), Series 50, 52, and 63 licenses.,Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting.

Special Commitments

Must obtain and maintain Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE), Series 50, 52, and 63 licenses. Requires prompt escalation of operational risk loss events, control deficiencies, and identified risks.
