As an Analyst, Global Markets Sales at CIBC, you will support the trading team by managing risk, assisting with pricing, and collaborating with traders to develop expertise in financial markets and instruments. Your responsibilities include managing daily funding needs for various departments, ensuring accurate booking of market-making deals, and striving for client satisfaction and operational excellence in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For

Support the trading team by managing risk and assisting with pricing activities.

Collaborate closely with traders to acquire and deepen expertise in specific markets and financial instruments.

Assist with the daily funding needs of various departments.

Ensure market-making deals are accurately booked.

Take ownership of critical processes to deliver the best outcomes for clients.

Expand knowledge of financial analysis by writing reports, developing and maintaining financial models, forecasting cash flow and earnings, researching companies, and analyzing industry trends.

Participate in quarterly conference calls with investors and analysts.

Liaise with colleagues in Sales, Trading, and Investment Banking, as well as with clients, to support business objectives and deepen market understanding.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate university degree in business, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related field. MBA is an asset.

1-2 years’ experience in related industries such as capital markets, foreign exchange, payments, financial services, Telco, financial technology or the technology industry.

Background in accounting and finance is considered an asset.

Excellent knowledge of PC applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Interpersonal skills needed to build effective relationships with internal and external clients.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis.

Adept at managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
