AML Investigator - Financial Intelligence Unit

Description

As an Investigator in the AML Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Investigations team, you will plan, conduct, and complete risk-based investigations into referred matters. Your role involves gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information to determine if there is sufficient suspicion of money laundering, financing of terrorism, or other criminal activities, necessitating a report to the Regulatory Authority. You will contribute to complying with legislative/regulatory requirements and mitigating risks for RBC.

What We're Looking For

Plan, conduct and complete risk based investigations into matters identified from media scans, transaction monitoring, and Unusual Transaction Reporting.,Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records of all investigative actions and decisions in accordance with legal, regulatory requirements, and RBC policy.,Gather information/intelligence from all available sources to determine suspicion of money laundering, financing of terrorism or other criminal activities.,Prepare relevant reports, including documentation for proposed actions based on investigation results.,Promote, support, and adhere to RBC's policies and guidelines on Code of Conduct, Personal and Professional Development, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Data Protection, and Information Security.,Collaborate with the Global AML-FIU Investigation Team and other FIU partners to ensure investigations are conducted within defined timelines and escalated as per policy.

Ideal Candidate

Understanding of money laundering processes and indicators (Must-have).,Knowledge and understanding of FINTRAC guidance/requirements (Must-have).,Completion of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., accounting, business, political science, criminology) (Must-have).,Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word (Must-have).,Working background/experience with major business segments of RBC (Nice-to-have).,ACAMS Certification (Nice-to-have).,AML background in Canadian banking (Nice-to-have).
