Accident Benefits Claims Advisor

Description

The Accident Benefits Claims Advisor at TD Insurance is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences and efficient, fair claims resolution. This role involves investigating claims, determining client eligibility and entitlement to benefits, and ensuring injured clients have quick access to support to facilitate their recovery and return to optimal function. The advisor will primarily handle medical files, contribute to team productivity, and achieve financial results through strong risk management and an effective operating model. They are expected to stay current with case law and regulatory changes, and build positive relationships with clients.

What We're Looking For

Gather, organize, and verify documented information from all available sources for thorough claims resolution.,Interpret reports and evidence to draw accurate conclusions about proposed treatments, repairs, or actions.,Maintain effective case handling, priority of payment, loss transfer, and loss reserving for routine telephone claims.,Evaluate non-complex medical files and recommend treatment plans that do not require time off from work.,Contribute to team productivity objectives by maintaining a positive file count and open/close ratio.,Remain current in case law, legislated regulatory changes, and recent settlements impacting accident benefits claims.,Support other TD Insurance businesses during critical events and peak volumes.,Use non-biased methods to achieve fair and equitable claim settlements.,Build positive relationships with clients, promoting clear treatment plans and recovery processes while providing timely progress updates.,Participate fully as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment.

Ideal Candidate

Post-secondary education in health (kinesiology/health sciences) or insurance preferred.,Actively working toward a role in Accident Benefits as part of career development plan.,Candidates pursuing their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and/or other relevant continuing education are preferred.
