2027 Corporate Banking Summer Analyst

Description

Join CIBC's Corporate Banking team as a Summer Analyst to deliver banking and investment solutions to corporate and institutional clients globally. This role involves structuring and executing transactions across various product and industry groups. As a Summer Analyst, you will support the 'Deal Team' by performing financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, and industry research, as well as assisting with information memoranda and client pitch books. You will also be involved in the credit approval process, transaction documentation, closing, and ongoing loan portfolio management. The program offers rotational opportunities across multiple teams.

What We're Looking For

Provide broad support including financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research.,Assist in the preparation of information memoranda and client pitch books.,Actively participate in the credit approval process, documentation, and closing of loan transactions.,Engage in ongoing management of the loan portfolio.,Conduct sound, timely, and well-communicated recommendations for credit facilities based on thorough analysis of financial, industry, business, and market information.,Conduct in-depth company, industry, and portfolio analysis to support client credit relationships.,Run financial models focused on credit analysis and risk rating evaluation.

Ideal Candidate

Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline (Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or related) at the time of the internship, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 – June 2028.,Demonstrated interest in Capital Markets.,Highly motivated, accomplished, and success-oriented with a keen interest in a financial services career, evidenced by school courses, clubs, or related work experience.,Proficient in MS-office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).,Digitally savvy, seeking innovative solutions and embracing evolving technologies.,Strong technical, computational, and analytical skills.,Understanding of credit analysis and accounting principles.,Organized and able to work under pressure, juggling multiple tasks and prioritizing for timely decisions.,Driven by collective success, understanding the power of an inclusive team.,Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills.,Strong orientation to excellence and a focus on results.,Legally eligible to work at the specified location and possess a valid work or study permit, if applicable.,GPA and expected graduation date must be indicated on resume.
