2026 Co-op, Good Laboratory Practice / Good Clinical Practice

Description

This is a fall Co-op opportunity at Moderna's R&D Quality (RDQ) group from July 13, 2026, to December 11, 2026. The role is designed for college students pursuing degrees in Life Sciences, Health and Human Services, or related fields, with an interest in Laboratory Quality within the biotech/pharma industry. The Co-op will support RDQ laboratory operations by assisting with daily quality activities, ensuring compliance with GLP/GCP regulations, monitoring KPIs, trending quality metrics, and contributing to the development of quality processes. Responsibilities also include reviewing assay method validation documentation and supporting internal and external audits of laboratory deliverables.

What We're Looking For

Support QA audits of laboratory deliverables, gaining firsthand experience with GLP and GCP.,Assist in the review of validation and lifecycle management compliance to meet internal standards.,Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain laboratory systems compliant with regulations and guidelines.,Contribute to risk impact assessments and evaluate potential risks.,Overview of audit study materials and reports for nonclinical, biomarker, and bioanalytical studies.,Assist audit team with audit deliverables, CAPAs, and responses.,Trending of metrics and KPIs related to department activities.

Ideal Candidate

Currently pursuing a degree in Life Sciences, Health and Human Services, or related field.,Basic understanding of GLP and GCP requirements, lifecycle controls, and the drug development process.,Basic understanding of Quality Assurance (QA), clinical development, and clinical sample analysis.,Basic familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations (GLP/GCP) is a strong plus.,Prior experience or coursework in Quality Assurance is a plus.,Proficient with Microsoft Office/365.,Must already hold work authorization in the US and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship.,Bioanalytical technology knowledge, including LIMS, ELISA, Functional Assays, PCR, plate readers, and mass spectroscopy proficiency is highly desired.,Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.,Working knowledge in cell/tissue culture, in vitro transfections, protein/antibody detection methods (e.g., MSD, ELISA, Luminex), molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA/RNA extractions), assay development, and troubleshooting.,Prior Co-op or internship experience is preferred but not required.
