Moderna's Drug Substance Operations team is looking for a highly analytical co-op to drive strategic initiatives in manufacturing, focusing on data-driven decisions and AI innovation. The role involves developing predictive insights, optimization models, and data products to enhance operational execution, productivity, and long-term manufacturing strategy. This co-op will embed advanced analytics and AI into core operational workflows to impact Moderna's manufacturing performance and scalability.
Support strategic initiatives by analyzing operational performance data and aligning improvement efforts with Moderna’s long-term manufacturing and network strategy.,Contribute to data-driven operational excellence projects by identifying bottlenecks, variability, and inefficiencies, and assisting in the development of scalable improvement solutions using Lean and systems-thinking principles.,Develop and refine predictive analytics, optimization models, and scenario analyses to drive efficiency and scalability across manufacturing workflows.,Assist in designing and piloting AI-enabled solutions, leveraging advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and Generative AI to enhance data-driven decision-making.,Build dashboards, automated reports, and decision-support tools that enhance productivity, increase performance transparency, and enable proactive risk management.,Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, FEVA, Supply Chain, MSAT, and Digital teams to gather requirements, synthesize insights, and support enterprise transformation initiatives.,Track initiative milestones and help quantify operational and financial impact through structured analysis, KPI development, and performance measurement.,Support workforce and operating model strategy efforts through data-driven productivity analysis and development of scalable analytical tools to inform future growth.
Current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.,Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems.,Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Excel).,Must hold current work authorization in the US and be able to maintain it without future sponsorship.,Preferred: GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent.,Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work both independently and contribute to high-performing teams.,Preferred: Creative thinker with a talent for envisioning transformative AI use cases and converting big ideas into enterprise-grade implementations.,Preferred: A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.
